This article explains how our backup and restore system works, what is retained, and how you can manage backups directly from your service dashboard.

Daily incremental backup system

  • Daily incremental snapshots: every day at 02:00 CET our system automatically takes an incremental backup of your VPS using Proxmox snapshot mode, capturing the full state of your server (files, configuration, and data) at that point in time.
  • Retention: we keep the most recent 30 backups in total per service.
  • Manual backups: you can trigger manual backups at any time from your service dashboard. Manual backups count toward the 30-slot limit, so each one replaces the oldest daily snapshot.
  • Protected backups: you can mark up to 3 backups as protected. Protected backups are never purged by the rotation, but they still count toward the 30-slot total. With 3 protected backups, you have 27 rotating daily snapshots.
  • Effective coverage: if you do not create any manual or protected backups, you have approximately 30 days of daily backup history available.

Self-service backup and restore

Backup and restore actions are now available directly from your service dashboard in the client area. From there you can:

  • View the list of available backups (manual and automatic).
  • Create a manual backup on demand.
  • Mark a backup as protected (up to 3 per service) so it is not rotated out.
  • Restore your VPS from any available backup.

There is no charge for using the self-service backup and restore feature within the standard 30-slot retention.

Best-effort service

Backups are provided in good faith on a best-effort basis. While our platform is reliable and we have not experienced any backup, restore, or data loss incidents, we cannot guarantee the availability or consistency of any individual backup.

For this reason we strongly recommend that you maintain regular off-site backups of any data that is important to you, independently of our backup system. This is standard best practice for any production workload.
